Tea Time

This past weekend was the annual Ladies' Tea at my church. Each year promises a fun afternoon filled with good friends, yummy treats, and fabulous entertainment...this year was no exception. The theme for this year's tea was "Dream Destinations" and our table chose Disney...because who doesn't want to be at Disney 24/7?! While most people choose settings and decorations that are more formal and traditional for a tea, we like to be a little more modern and contemporary. Our table name was "When You Wish Upon a Star" so we had a black tablecloth with a silver-y netting overlay to resemble the night sky. Our centerpiece was Cinderella's Castle with Tinker Bell sitting on one of the top spires. *If you've ever been to Magic Kingdom, you know that Tink flies out of the castle at the beginning of the fireworks show each night* We had silver star balloon weights as "fireworks" on either side. Mickey Mouse dishes completed our lovely tablescape.

One of my favorite parts of every tea is looking at all the different tables and taking pictures of their beautiful work. Some of my favorite tables (other than our own) were Mardi Gras, China, Ireland, Scotland, Russia, and Africa. Here's hoping next year's tea is just as much fun!
