30 Day Photography Challenge: days 26 - 30

well, we have reached the end of the 30 day photography challenge. I really enjoyed having different subjects, photog styles, and creative ideas to focus on. I'm sure I'll remain on the look-out for more challenges to do over the course of time. it's important to continually challenge oneself no matter what you study. this group includes another self-portrait. let me tell you, those are hard to do. between coming up with a concept, attempting to fulfill said concept, scratching the original idea, and ultimately doing something else instead...well needless to say, self-portraits might just be the most challenging photo ops of all. but eventually I took a picture of myself that I was happy with (for this challenge that is). enjoy!

Day 26: close up

Day 27: from a distance

Day 28: flowers

Day 29: black and white

Day 30: self-portrait

30 Day Photography Challenge: days 21 - 25

I think this is the group of pictures I've had done the longest. I had pretty much forgotten what they even looked like; good thing I'm satisfied with what I took. My favorite picture in this group is probably my animal shot or maybe it's the sunflare. I love taking pictures with sunflare...they almost always turn out stunning!

Day 21: faceless self-portrait

Day 22: hands

Day 23: sunflare

Day 24: animal

Day 25: something pink

Yes, that is pink ice cream. Actually, it's fat-free frozen yogurt: raspberry pomegranate. So delicious!

30 Day Photography Challenge: days 16 - 20

so the challenges for this group of five days was good for me. I didn't even know what one of the photography terms was and had to turn to my trusty resource guide (aka google) to figure it out. once I read about it and saw some examples I realized I have bokeh in my pictures quite often. well, often enough that I recognized it when I saw it. just another term to add to my photography lexicon. another interesting challenge was long exposure...something I don't have a lot of practice with. to be quite honest, I had to study many examples to get a good feel for what it should look like. but I think I managed to accomplish a long exposure picture just fine. enjoy!

Day 16: long exposure

Day 17: technology

Day 18: your shoes

Day 19: something orange

Day 20: bokeh

anyone want to guess which book my bokeh picture is from? or what the orange item is? Hints: it's one of the Harry Potter books; something from my cousin's wedding. Toodles!

World Photography Day!

so apparently today is "World Photography Day" which is kinda cool. I haven't taken a lot of pictures of food yet so I thought I'd give it a whirl. first up: my super delicious thai basil chicken and rice dinner. and of course, it's always important to save room for a little dessert. in today's case that would be bite-size s'mores (made using a couple of my Tastefully Simple products). yay for yummy treats!

30 Day Photography Challenge: days 11 - 15

it's that time again; time to see more of my challenge photos. I enjoyed this set of 5 quite a lot. I tried to think as creatively as possible and believe I came up with some clever set-ups. I hope you enjoy these pictures as well!

Day 11: something blue
White Peach - day 11

Day 12: sunset
White Peach - day 12

Day 13: yourself with 13 things
White Peach - day 13

Day 14: eyes
White Peach - day 14

Day 15: silhouette
White Peach - day 15

so my favorite challenge of mine this time was the something blue. I thought and thought and thought about something interesting I could do for this challenge. suddenly, inspiration struck. school's starting again soon. crayons are an important part of school-life and boom!..a picture of different shades of blue crayons. in an interesting display of course!

my favorite of White Peach's is definitely her with 13 things. I mean, talk about being creative. really clever and fun.

halfway through the challenge...phew! am not quite finished with the next 5 on the list. perhaps I should get those done. and soon too. happy Monday!

30 Day Photography Challenge: days 6 - 10

so you've seen the first five challenges and now I'll share with you the next five. I hope you're also taking a moment to check out some of White Peach's entries for the different set-ups. if anyone wants to join in by sharing a photo you've taken that fits in one of the categories...let me know. it's always fun to see what different people come up with.

I have to say, I think my favorite challenge in this set was number 10. narrowing it down to a specific example was quite fun.

the easiest, by a wide margin, was number 9. I'm sure it'll be quite obvious why that is. enjoy!

Day 6: from a low angle

Day 7: fruit

Day 8: a bad habit

Day 9: someone you love

Day 10: childhood memory

my bad habit: cracking my knuckles. I do this all. the. time. seriously, I cannot help myself. I need to quit. and I know that my picture has three people I love but who cares?! I just love that picture; I can't help it! oh, and anyone up for a quick game of scrabble...hehe. :)

30 Day Photography Challenge: days 1 - 5

So a couple months ago one of the photography blogs I follow, White Peach Photo, posted a 30 day photography challenge. I really liked her list and decided I would challenge myself to capture photos based on these concepts over the course of the summer. Instead of posting one photo each day I thought I would do 5 days at a time. Along with each of my photos, I'll post a direct link to White Peach's photo of that challenge. I love, love, loved some of the things she did and think she's a fabulous photographer. You should really check out all of her work!

Day 1: self-portrait

Day 2: what you wore today

Day 3: clouds

Day 4: something green

Day 5: high angle

So there you have it, days 1 -5 of this photography challenge. Does anyone know what Day 4 is of? And did you find the hidden Mickey? And seriously...loved my hair when I took that self-portrait...I had just gotten it done; there's no way I can recreate that style on my own. *sigh* Will post the next set in a couple days...but first I need to make sure I like the ones I've chosen. :)
